Rose Cena hates Brad Tatum.

She hates that he's gorgeous, talented, famous, and not even twenty. She hates that he dates a new celebrity each month, and girls still crawl all over him. She hates that thousands of love-struck fan-girls enter a contest in the hopes that one of them can spend a day with him.

And she especially hates that no matter what she does, she can't stop thinking about him.

Sometimes, friends know what's best for you. So when Rose's friends convince her to enter the "Win a date with Brad Tatum" contest, she doesn't argue much. Maybe knowing that she'd made the effort, and knowing that the chances to win are slim would be her cure. Maybe.

But what would happen if fate decided to step in, and turn her life right around? Who knew that one little contest could change your life...

Rose is sixteen and in the eleventh grade when her friends convince her to enter the life-changing Win a Date With Brad Tatum contest. A one in several million chance to win, and what happens...?

After several... unfortunate incidents, Rose finds herself trying to keep things normal with a bad actor on her heels, a sister who thinks she knows what's best for her, and half the school hating her. But Rose Cena is not one to let things get her down; she holds her head up and sticks through it all with a little help from her friends.

Fortunately or unfortunately for Rose, what should have been short-term effects from a disastrous date are now setting in action a series of events which may alter her own destiny. First, all she has to do is get through high school so she can fulfil her dream of owning a boutique in Manhattan.

And hey, maybe she'll find love along the way.

Brad Tatum is THE Brad Tatum -- the world famous model/actor millionaire not yet twenty. There isn't one thing Brad doesn't have, whether it's money, a great job, an amazing house, and hundreds of thousands of people who fawn over him.

It wasn't his idea to create that stupid contest, though. His manager did, and she was the brains behind the brawn (and the face, and the bod, and ... well, everything else). He especially did not expect, let alone WANT, to be publicly embarassed by an irate schoolgirl. It takes two weeks for the press to forget about her, and about two hours for Brad to. In theory.

But he doesn't, he remembers when he shouldn't. He remembers when his manager suddenly announces that he will be spending at least three days with the very same girl. And Brad vows to make her life a living hell... or at least sleep with her.

Besides, she's kinda cute.

Brooke is loud, tall, and up to date on anything happening in the world of celebrities and their issues. One of Rose's close friends, she plays a vital part in the whole "Brad Tatum" thing that caused so much scandal. Brooke never expected to become part of the world of the rich and famous -- she's the youngest of the trio, and still unsure of what to do with her life.

A procrastinator, Brooke loves watching soccer on television or catching the latest episode of Beaches and Beauties. She knows just which singer is dating what actor, but is clueless when it comes to her own crushes at school. In between Rose's issues with THE Brad Tatum, her own crushes on X&O frontman Jake Adams and shy student Chris Nguyen, Brooke too is struggling through her third year of high school.

It's only a matter of time, she figures, before she'll find her true calling. What Brooke doesn't realise is that her path is a long and winding one, and that maybe her destiny in life is closer than it appears.

Rachel is the buffer between the headstrong personalities of Rose and Brooke. A physics-loving nerd, she enjoys sometimes writing songs -- so far, only the other two girls have seen any. Rachel is naturally a very private person; after her parents split, she retreated further into herself, and it was the joint effort of Rose and Brooke to return her to the real world.

Rachel dislikes her eccentric mother's new marriage; she feels particularly ambivalent towards what it brings her. A companion for her mother and a new brother? Or a man trying to take her father's place, and the unavailable boy of her dreams?

DIstraught Rachel would rather soar with the birds than deal with uptight celebrities with their heads in the clouds. Lucky for her, her friends -- and a certain someone -- are down to Earth enough that Rachel won't fly away.

Cristen Delta

Cristen is one of four stars of the "reality" show Beaches and Beauties along with Dan Rodriguez, and has also co-starred with Dan and THE Brad Tatum in the film Burn. She has a keen interest in Brad as more than one of his flings, and only finds herself increasingly annoyed with Brad's involvement with one Rose Cena.

John Kirk

John is an upcoming singer/songwriter, and currently the crush of Rachel Cherinki. He's a sensitive guy who'd prefer to make people laugh rather than cry -- until it comes to his songs. John often bares his soul to his music, and the result has gotten him a fairly good following.

Jake Adams

Jake is the energetic lead singer of pop-punk band X&O. He doesn't appear to take himself too seriously, but only time will tell.

Chris Nguyen

Chris is a new student at the girls' high school, and an unwilling object of affection for much of the school's female population -- including Brooke.

Michelle Sara Cena
(Autumn Reeser)

As Rose's older sister, Michelle firmly believes that she knows what's right for the younger girl, which usually really irritates Rose to no end. Once in a while she can be helpful, however, such as when Rose needs an excuse for their traditional parents.
